Large fish removal and transport?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No nets when catching aro's, period. Even if net holes are small, there's a good chance for aro's barbels being damaged by the nets easily if the fish made one wrong move. This is not a concern for aro's that don't have nice barbels.

Charles, please do not bring nets unless they're used for guiding the fish only. I know you've got the bags already.

Just wanted to update.....Took the 2hour drive and got the big guy home. Used a rubber made container, used old towels to cushion the ride and two battery powered air pumps. Thanks to Arodini who guided the jar in to the bag like it was nothing....amazing to watch. Thanks to everyone.

Very nice, Charles!

I still have a video clip when he scared us all before I got to him...I remember I did swear before turning off the camera :)

Change the environment's coloring (background and bottom) from time to time if you wanted to enjoy the jar's corresponding changes in his coloration. I had always wanted to do that but never got to it.

Forgot to tell you that he'll also eat salmon/talapia/other fish fillet, earth/supper worms and crickets (as treats), and chicken_fillet (easy on this one) besides hikari stuffed shelled shrimps as staple. Don't bother trying to get him on pellets.

My oldest daughter actually shed tears after you left. We all miss him very much. But we know he's in good hands now.

I went along on this trip. Arodini (Nate) and his family were waiting for us when we arrived. We had some great monster related conversation and it was clear he cares very much for all his fish. It was inspiring to see a family who shares the love of our hobby and appreciation for this very well cared for fish
We were having some trouble coaching the jar into a bag. There was some splashing and jumping perhaps a curse or two. Nate placed his hand into the tank and literally waved and pointed at the bag. The jar just swam into the bag as if it was following orders.
Other than a long drive in after Christmas traffic it was a good experience.
