My 8" male zz red dragon is laying on the bottom of the tank? His color is good and he does not look stressed. When I get close to the tank he swims without righting himself and only gets about 8" of the ground. Ammonia, nitrates and nitrites all test good, and the four other fish in the tank are fine. I now have him separated to keep them from attacking him. I got him well developed already 2 years ago so I don't know his age. Any advice would be much appreciated he is one of my favorite fish and I think I might lose him.

No one? I have put him in a 10 gallon hospital tank with salt and an anti-parasite medication. Read up on swim bladder disease and hand fed him peas, but he spit them out and would only except his Massivore delight. He is still strong just sideways and without control when trying to swim.

Water temp all good? Any spots on body? Any signs at all? Tail fray or turning white. My self I would dose with API pimafix add salt to the tank also.

Does he seem bloated?

Yes he seems bloated on the bottom of his body. Temp is good and body has no marks on it. His tail is bitten up a little bit from his midas girlfriend. One thing i have noticed over time is a tiny hole in his cheek that heals then re appears. None of this has ever effected his appetite or appearance.

I added salt last night and parasite medicine. When i get off work i will pick up some pimafix and try that. Thankyou for the advice and interest. Will update tonight.
