there are lots of lmb farms, they ain't going extinct anytime soon. they are game fish. they are for people's enjoyment... people claiming its for the fishes well-being, thats just people trying to be self-righteous. lol...

potential life-span means nothing, it could be eaten right now by another fish or me.... anyone keeping lmb in a tank, is for pure enjoyment, watching them eat up a smaller fish etc... their health is secondary.

my observation of fishes regarding their growth rate is prolly it depends on how much you feed them and their tank size... supposely people say other fishes in the tank can stunt another fishes growth as well, but i don't know if thats true or not...

i feed my bass like any other fish... just enough that it it doesn't look skinny. i think if u want it to grow fast, feed it a couple of small fishes everyday and give it a long tank...

You got some misconceptions here... Fish in a tank are for our enjoyment, but so is having a dog as a pet. Doesn't mean I'll keep my dog locked up in a kennel 24/7 and feed it just enough to live.
Look, I kill things for a living as a fishing guide in Alaska. I've probably killed hundreds of thousands of fish for my enjoyment, but that is fishing. If I choose to put a life under my care, be it my family, my dogs, or my fish, I will make sure they get the best care I can provide for them. If you don't feel the same, you probably should not be in hobby.
