I am having problems identifying this fish any ideas?

Good looking fish, where is the picture from

A Syspilum might work as well. They get to around 16 inches and seem mellow with small fish. We have one in a community tank that has half inch fry in init and he never looks at them. Just a thought an there colors are real good too. Another thought might be a groups of Transcriptus julidchromis Gome.

Definitely not Congos but idk what kind of tetra they are. Definitely a tetra though

Chalceus are highly predatory, I think it will start eating its mates as soon as it can fit them in its mouth

Almost anything.

I have rasboras, danios, barbs, tetras, loaches, etc etc with mine

We are talking about Chalceus macrolepidotus? Every source I have read says they will hunt down any smaller fishes. Of course if I went by the powers that be I wouldn't have kept ID sharks with my tetras either.

Did you start out with all the fish at once, more or less, or did you add the Pink tailed Chalceus last as very small fishes?

The fish in the picture is from pinterest, I have several fish and aquarium boards there.

I have heard of fire eels that are introduced at a young age and small size not attacking smaller fish that they grew up with, but I'm not sure if it's a for sure thing or if it's the kind of fish that would interest you.

I have a 30" fire eel that has always lived with small fish. Zebra Danios, Cardinal and Rummy Nose Tetra and Panda Corys. The eel doesn't even give them a second look. In fact the only fish the eel didn't like was a 12" South American Lungfish.

I had a large pink tail (8"+) years ago that did hunt my zebra danios, but most fish would do that with such a large size difference.

The one I have now has been with a variety of different fish as i mentioned with the only trouble being occasional territorial chasing of the same size rasboras. I have added many smaller fish without issue but would be somewhat concerned about cardinals in with a large chalceus.
