Large Predatory Haps?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I will be sure to post pictures, it won't be for a while yet, but when i do get it set up, i'll be sure to let you know.

That tank looks really nice, love the Fosso.
What are the fish in the top right of the tank?

Thanks,
Will

Some of the fish are at the back of the tank in that pic, so they don't show up in the photo. The 2 fish at the top right are Placidochromis sp. "Phenochilus Tanzania" Here's a shot of one of them.

I feed the same thing as the other two gents whose rostratus were shown in this discussion. (New Life Spectrum) The pellet size will depend on the size of the fish. 1mm is good up to 4" or so, then I would shift to the 2mm pellets, and probably stay with that size long term. My fossie will jam his whole head into the sand looking for morsals of food.

dude, I just picked up a group of Exochromis Anangenys and they would be awesome as a 2m/4F species only tank. I wish I had room for a species tank for them but im in a condo and my girl will kill me if I bring another tank home. Definitely my top 3 fav fish of all time. They're so mellow and just cruise the top of the tank staying out of everyone's way. I happen to have just picked up a couple of Fosso juvies and put them in there but the Exo's that are 8 inches+ were "stalking" them so I pulled them out and put them back in the grow out tank. Heres a few pics :

Looking nice. :)
Did you pick those up at a LFS?
Could you tell me which one, because i'm located close to Northern VA.

THanks,
Will

Yes, that's all you need to feed Will, but if the fish are 4" or larger I would use the Medium Fish formula. (2mm sinking) You can also give them some frozen krill once a week as a treat if you like, I don't, but that's your call.

I got these guys from a local guy I had bought a tank and stand from. I didnt have room for all of these guys so i moved a group and now I have 2M/3F. If its big ones you're looking for Ill PM you where to get them.

Alright, in order to save money, i was wondering if these guys (a breeding group of 8 Fosso's) would still be able to thrive in a 135 gallon? Its 72" x 18" x 25" (l x w x h) would that still work if i over filtered?

Thanks,

Will
