My advice for the best chance of long term success is growing a group of male haps out together, and add the species that are known for the most aggression, last. Also, keep only 1 male per genus.
You also need to be prepared to juggle fish around if/when something doesn't work out as planned. As an example, I have tried on 3 separate occasions to grow out a juvie male N. venustus in my tank (with adult haps), and the moment they got some size to them, and became sexually mature, they became hyper dominant and had to be removed. I know many others that have had zero issues with their male venustus, so I guess for myself it just wasn't meant to be.
