My rays are starting to get to a pretty good size now. I feel like I am going through frozen cubes of blood worms really quickly. What are you guys doing? Can I buy a large quantity of frozen blood worms instead of paying $6 for a couple of frozen cubes?

I do know you can get 'em in a slab and last time I was buying frozen bloodworm that worked out cheaper by far. Quick search turned up what I'm talking about: http://www.pets-warehouse.com/vpasp/shopexd.asp?id=104649
Several LFSs around me stock that.

Dunno if there are other options that are cheaper still.
ya you can buy them by the slab instead of cubes but it is easier to get the rays onto other foods such as cut up red wiggler or earth worms, cut up tilapia, krill, etc etc.

It's $8 and then $40 for shipping. That is crazy.

just stop feeding bloodworms and start using night crawlers, alot bigger, and alot cheaper.

They love night crawlers. The bloodworms last a lot longer though. I usually get my night crawlers from my lfs or petsmart. It's anywhere from $4-$7 and do not come with may worms. Is there a better place to get night crawlers from? I do so much research on what they'll eat and found local places that I can get everything from, but never really tried to find place where I can buy their food in bulk and for a reasonable price.

I'm assuming frozen krill? My aro eats freeze dried krill and the rays don't go near it. Red wigglers, would be same as the night crawlers. I can get the from my lfs but not many come in a box and their about the same price as the blood worms. I have a lb of black worms that I feed every once in awhile as a treat, but for the most part they always eat bloodworms and night crawlers (whenever I get them, again they go quick) I also give them shrimp every few days.

Another benefit of the worms, are my other fish eat them most of the time too.

Just get them converted over to Market Prawn, Tilapia, Squid, Scallops and/or Pellets.
You can buy these in bulk and will last much longer.
You can also buy the night crawlers online in bulk and it is much cheaper.
Night crawlers should be a treat once/twice a week. Stick with the other frozens that I
mentioned and pellets.
Quit wasting money on the blackworms. They are good for getting finicky new rays to eat,
but after that convert them to something else.

I had to get the blackworms to try and get the reci eating when I first got him. I'll eventually like to stop buying them. Most likely once this batch is finished I won't buy anymore. I also am planning on buying a hystrixs next week and want to make sure I have blackworms just encase. It would be really nice to get the rays eating pellets, but I do no think I'd be able to get the retci to eat them. It took forever to get him to eat shrimp. I'll have to stop at Dominick's and pickup some Market Prawn, Tilape, squid and scallions

I just want Tilapia Fillet? As far as Squid is Frozen Calamari ok?
Same thing. They may not eat it (just a suggetion to try) some people have gotten
their rays onto it. I don't feed it cause it isn't available around me locally and my rays
won't touch scallops.
But they love the Tilapia, Market Prawn ( shrimp ) Muscles and of course worms.
