Big glass tanks are not really popular and the majority of folks seem to go with acrylic when they start to get to be in the 300g category. Personally I like glass tanks and am looking to get one from customaquariums.com. They have a 96x24x30 tank that I want and I have the option for low iron clear glass on the front and sides. This is what I am going to do.
jaws, I think you are on the right path to just skip the middle step and go to the 300g. I did the step from a 120g to a 210g and now I want the 300g. You going from the 150g to a 300g is a good step, saves you money in the end.

jaws, we had been talking about this for awhile now and I just pulled the trigger and its official, I just bought my 300g! The company is about 12 weeks out which in my case is perfect since I am 6 weeks out till my new home remodel is complete... If all goes well. So plenty of time to have the house complete before the new tank arrives.
i agree, i have few tanks so the basement would be the ideal place for fish tanks.. so i have made specific location where drains can be hidden behind walls.. of some tanks.. so i don't have to worry about water change 1st and 2nd my 300 gal now can be setup with drip system..
I've been looking at diy threads on sumps and im freakin lost would an eshopps sump be just as good ?
If your getting a new tank I would get one pre-drilled. ESHOPPS are nice and I never lost the siphon in 5 years but they limit how much flow and never produce the amount advertised. Thats why I added a second one.
Definitely get it drilled and they should be able to help you with size of holes etc and they could provide the bulkheads and then you just need to get the right size pipe
thanks guys I emailed marineland to see if they make the tank undrilled no answer yet but im pretty sure they don't.
