largemouth bass and tilapia ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well pbass usually get bigger than largemouth, so i would try to get lmb if he can

I thought his Profile said Rhode Island?

I see, I got 2 people mixed up..

Usually...but pbass are more streamlined that lmb. lmb are much stockier and have larger mouths...hence the name. I've seen a 12in lmb with a 8in bluegill stuck in his throat. Caught the fish myself. Either way, my 6in pbass doesnt eat anything larger than maybe two inches long and he knows his limitations. I guess its up to the guy to decide. But personally id go with pbass cause theyre so much more prettier.

well first off thank you all.

i am adding more tilapia because 2 are not enough around 20-30 is, and they will spawn like crazy and over populate the tank, to over come this the largemouth bass will eat the fry and control the population of the tilapia.

my talapia is about 500g which is just over 1lbs and i'm going to wait till they are all above 1lbs before adding largemouth, which should take about 2-3 months.

my tilapia are Oreochromis i think, i will post a pic tommorow if it will help.
not to sound like a jerk but in kuwait and as i am kuwaiti i'm sure i know someone who knows someone who can help with the regulations if their are any.

jaguars, mokeys and all sort of animals which are not even permited to enter the country are being sold in an open market. so i think my LMB would pass.

i don't know but i think Oreochromis, i will post a pic later because it nearly dawn and i have to go to class in like 5 hours.

I kept a lmb, smb, and a few other natives in a 90g with a zebra tilapia. It worked fine for me but when i got the tilapia he was already five inches.

could you not sell them? If I was doing what you are I could make a killing!

tilapia tastes great, i would raise the fry and freeze them for fish food and food for you
