I woke up yesterday morning and I noticed this white mucus looking stuff on the bottom fin near the anal opening. I didn't think much of it at the time. But this morning it looks like the fin is actually liquifying into this white mucus where u can only see the tip of the stubs. The base of the fin is also enflamed with a red streak. Whatever it is I think I caught it pretty early so I started medicating with melafix and aquarium salt. It's just strange how fast this happened when just the other day it was completely healthy looking. Any other medications I should use? I'll try to get pics up when my computer stops acting up as I'm typing this on my iPhone right now.

Params are good and it's the only fish in a 150g.
Please disregard the black specks. My camera lens is dirty.

This likely is not a fungus, but rather a bacterial infection (most likely flavobacterium). It is common for fin rot to rapidly progress, and your fish looks like it has a relatively mild case. What you've done is fine.

Keep your water parameters pristine and he should heal up fine. It will take a few weeks for the fins to return to normal.

The white stuff eating away at the fins looks stringy. But there is another spot near the dorsal fin with a spot of the white stuff. I went to petsmart and there's like 4 kinds of Maracyn. They all say they treat finrot but which one is best?

Many people see the stringy/fluffy lesions and think fungus when the vast majority of cases are bacterial. Maracyn Two works on gram negative bacteria, which this likely is. However, I would just keep the water pristine and let him heal on his own. As long as the fish is eating and behaving normally I wouldn't start pumping antibacterials into him.

Well it's still eating but it's definitely not attacking it's food with ferocity like it used to. It had clamped fins a few days ago but not anymore. I have noticed that since adding the salt and melafix it's been breathing a lot harder. How often should I do water changes? According to the melafix instructions, I souls medicate for 5 days then do a 25% water change. And when should I start panicking and throwing antibiotics in there?

Do a couple water changes per week. You can do as many water changes as you want while using melafix. Do the water changes just before you dose the tank again that day.

If he stops eating or acting lethargic is when you should start to think about using antibiotics.
