and I would agree fish live longer if you keep them as pets. I have had my sunfish for almost 5 years now and my bluegill I raised up from a 2 incher for about 3. If you saw where I got them from you wouldnt want to take them back either
. But nonetheless, I think baby is gonna get large anyway you look at it. Therefore, I'm going to go all out and get him the tank made. I dont think I will get him some tank mates as he prefers to be alone. He is very jealous over his tank. I tried that already and he headbutts any fish that comes to close to his "spot" lol.
Oops, sorry about that. There aren't many female members here and you might be the only one with native fish. Nice to see you care so much about your fish, he is in good hands. Post pictures as soon as you can.
yeah I love my fish and most of the fishing guys down at the pier think I'm crazy when I'm out there fishing telling them I'm trying to catch a new pet instead of something to eat LOL...and the older guys at my job laugh when I tell them I keep a largemouth as a pet 
and I posted a few pics of my sunfish and bluegill in the photo section. They are about a year old but I havent been on the net for awhile and posted em up just so people can see them. I'm going to get a new cam soon so I can get some pics of the bass and some updated ones of my sunfish.
