You know what else is a good idea? All the things I listed before. Natural lighting, natural habitat/decor, natural temp changes, natural water, ability to breed. Are you providing those to your bass? I bet not, so if all of those things aren't important why does a bass need to eat a mouse?.

um i have dove in the lake these bass came from to replicate as close as possible, the substrate comes directly from the lake, I purchased replica seaweed and grass that looks like the lake, I put a chunk of wood and grass on one side cause the LMB like that and I put built up large rocks on the other side cause often times Small mouth prefer that. I've used ACTUAL lake water for water changes (then later determined that wasn't as neccessary) I feed them little fish from the lake, worms, (no mice yet) the things I know they eat in the lake. Water changes regularly. I've even gone as far as to try and replicate the lakes water temp for that season of the year.

don't make stupid assumptions that just becasue I think its okay to feed bass a mouse that I don't know how to care for fish. I'm not an idiot and I know how to care for them and provide the best home for them.

People are making way to big an issue of this just let it go and don't read the post. No one needs to worry bass wont be banned out of the USA.

I'm not comparing mice to humans. Where did you get that?

Bright boy is the one comparing dropping a full grown mouse into a box of water to our soldiers fighting in the Middle East. haha

I'm glad you took the time to surf science daily to come up with an interesting article. Crickets and mice are worlds apart. Period.

We all have our opinions. That's why this is a forum. Let's be honest though...Borat or Blok one (Whatever) is doing this for his own enjoyment, not for the health of his fish.

Samps you're right (not being sarcastic) you didn't compare mice to humans, someone said earlier that we need to treat them humanely and something about not being human, something like that anyway they drew a connection.

and I more strongly disagree with BLok about our Soldiers then any BS about Mice

and thanks it only took me about 4 minutes to find that article.

You are also right about doing it more for enjoyment, but all in all he (and I) don't think its wrong and I bet the bass like it so although its not a health issue, its something we can do so we will...........................................

so for everyone else don't try to make us look like idiots. I don't know anything about Blok but the video shows hes raised a healthy bass so he's doing something right. so we both know how to care for fish let us do our thing and if we want to share a video then we have that right. you don't like it don't watch it.

Have your opinions just keep the post on topic. YOu want to vent about how bad it is then (seriously) start a new thread, I'd love to debate you there but I want to hear more about Bloks bass and see more videos on this thread. (in fact I've started a new thread check it out.)

I took biology in 10th grade, there we were taught about the Kingdoms of life. Last I knew insects, fish, mice, humans, clams, sponges, sparrows...they were all classified as animals. If you're going to try and debate something AT LEAST know what you're talking about.

If you're so sure of yourself please point out in what kingdom on this picture insects and fish belong?

That is the diagram I was looking for. Actually I just learned about that in Bio today so believe me they are all animals. Still fresh in the mind from 12:30 ;)

ok back on to the threads topic...
my plan is to get a 300gal tank (8'X2'X2.5'h)
and for fish..
1 12in largemouth
1 10-14in peacock bass
1 10-14in arowana
1 10in spotted gar
1 10-14in bottom feeder probably pleco

good idea or bad idea?

Mine is at about 3 inchs and hes with some 8'' goldfish in a 30g but when he gets close to their size Im pulling him. Actually my 75g is set up Im just waiting for levels to be where I want them I already introduced bacteria and Im not putting anything but a pleco and a Rafiael cat and Im going to leave them plenty of caves and other spots lmb wont fit in

mine is about 8 or 9 inches and I have had him since 2-3 inches and he was with medium/large goldfish until he got close to their size then he moved to 75g with small pleco and small rafi cat and they grew in proportion to him as he grew recently I added an oscar nearly equal in size with no problems but he did grow up with fish that have no temper
