What is the largest type of pleco? What type/s would go best in a 55g aqaurium?

it really depends on what you got in there

if you got planted tank, a rock setup or driftwoodsy or NOTHING at all- barebottom whatever- it really depends on your current stock's diet as well too

:nilly: more detailed info than a 55g would help- like its setup, its stocklist (other fish in it)

most probaly a royal pleco

well thats what i reckon

ya.. u can't go wrong with a royal.. Just add driftwood and regular feeding of cucumbers and ur good to go..! :D

I'm a bit rusty but lda046 rings a bell. I'm sure oddball had one at some point?

Long term you will need a larger tank as they can grow up to 18" and need hefty filtration.

Well now I want one, and I want it to grow at first in a 55g and then I'd like to transfer it to my 75g... the stock in it is one 14in Bullhead and a 6in bluegill. They eat earthworms, wax worms, and the feeder goldfish that is living with them oddly eats algae wafers. The tank is planted and has driftwood in it.

I would not keep a 14" bullhead in a 55g tank. You are already overstocked, friend.
