Good luck with this batch, Scott. Have you considered adding extra current to the tank?

thanx. i have, right now i just have an emperor 400 on the tank with some aquatic celery and pothoes. i may add a large sward from the 180gal and a second emperor 400 or 280 with bamboo/pothoes. they are only 3-4" right now so i don't want to over do it. my only powerheads are in my salt tank now. i don't know if i will get another powerhead or not yet. i will need another for my salt tank after the aros are out of the 120gal and i change it over to salt, but idk if i want to put a large gph powerhead in with the little aros. once they are large enough not to get eatten by my gar, smallie and endli i will be putting them in the 180 witch has a fx5, emperor 400, emperor 280 and i will be getting another fx5 in the neer future for it. so they will have lots of flow to keep them occupied. if there agresstion rises it may push me to get some more flow going, but i am still riding the fence on it since they seem to be doing great so far(knock on wood many many times!!!)

here are some pics from my phone. there the best i can do for now. going to try to get a charger for my other camera to get some better pics. in the FTS the sixth aro is on the right under the flow of the filter. the pic that looks like they are fighting, they aren't, both just wanted to see what my phone was. the one that it turning away had seen enough.

no its not my experience talking, it is my COMMON SENSE, as i dont have experience keeping large fish first hand, im on my there tho

"Common sense" is typically a phrase people use to justify their opinion when they lack critical thinking or evidence. My tongue-in-cheek sig aside, "common sense" is a terrible rational for an argument.

For the OP, I'd be careful with powerheads and little aros; their shape and fairly weak swimming style mean they get sucked onto the intakes. I'd wrap em in foam just in case.

thanx for the advise. i know all to well about the fragile state of small aros. thats why i am hesitant to put any in, they even get stuck to the hob filters uper intake from time to time. they get off it in a sec so i haven't covered it.

Cool scott. cute lil ones.. ah the monsters they turn out to be in a year.. :)

thanx, it is amazing how they just grow before your eyes! so far my record is 2.5-3" into 24"+ within 10 months.:WHOA:

well i took a few more pics during my last wc. they have about dubbled in size, and are getting along great. i added some plants and it has seemed to help get the higher acrhy established and maintained. they all school to eat then after they are full the dominate ones get a little agressive tward the submissive aros, witch in turn swim to the mid level of the tank around the plants and then peace is kept through out the tank. i am amazed at how many food sticks they are eatting each. can't wait till they are big enough for the big tank and i can feed them my free wc foods...lol...as i think when they are 15" they could polish off a bag of foodsticks a day.:grinno: since right now they are up to 50 food sticks at a feeding, every day.
