Good Friday.....Almost a perfect 10....but not quite. I caught only 9.

Definitely my best result for PB fishing for a day. Caught six of them within a half mile from my backyard and before the nearest bridge. Caught three more after the first 6 but after/beyond the nearest bridge. This brings my total for the year to 142 and 44 for the month.

All of the catches were landed using the lures shown in the first picture, A Glass Shad Rap in white and a Renegade Rattling Vibe in white body with black top.

Encountered a total of 6 different pairs. Caught 7 from them. The other two is probably a spawning pair. Not sure though. Just saw a dark shadow hanging around a spot I know is a breeding spot. Dropped the Renegade on it and landed one of them on the second drop. Dropped twice more and caught another.

All nine were released.

Yeah! I missed that. Might have made it to 17 inch too.

Sometimes I hurry up so much to let them go I underestimate them.

What a month September was. It came and went like a ghost. Caught a total of 44 Peas for the month, 142 for the year of which at least 28 were 17 inch or bigger. Couldn't break my best month total of 45 for August last month. Might have done it though if there were 31 days like August and the weather was not as stormy as the last two days.

Still September was a very good month. I had my best day ever, fishing for Cichla.

Will be giving the fish some break and take it easier the rest of the year. Will still try to make at least 150 for the year and land 3 more monster sized ones, though.

It's time to lighten up the stocking in my tanks and prep them for my vacation in Vegas.

It seemed unimaginable back in early August when I realized I was about 20 back from my pace last year when I caught 108. Focus and dedication can do wonders sometimes. Caught 89 in the last two months alone.
