I'm beginning to like This Rap Shad lures. It's got tiny trebles but very good at holding the fish and they are easy to get off the catch.

Had two say two fish instead of pair. There were three of them lingering near a small rock in less than 12 inch of water. Two of them were fending each other off while one was holding steady over the rock. The first pic is one of the two that were fighting. I thought it was a male due to the hump but turned out to be unmistakeably female with its ovipositor very prominent. Don't know what the second fish is as it would not stay still and got all covered with sand and was released before I could take a good look to check whether it was male or female.

SWEET!!!!!!! Perch Color Rapala X-Rap!!!!!!!!

I had to do a bit of improvisation with this lure. As you probably know this lure has neutral bouyancy. Cast and retrieve won't work with a rope line in front and flipping the lure will just make the llure bounce to the top and not go deep enough to the level of the fish which were in about 4 feet of water.

It was actually the wrong lure for the PB in this situation. The pair was hanging around from under the rope line on the beach. Wrong lure but it had to do the job as it was the only thing I had on this fishing venture. Fortunately I had this X-rap rigged with an 18 inch leader. I let the lure hang from the tip of the rod with about two inch line from the tip and waded in close enough to the pair in about thigh high water and swished the tip of the rod under water so the lure can be within the sight of the fish.

After swishing the lure back and forth for about 10 minutes I got the monster catch to bite and landed it after a couple of long runs on 15 pound mono line.:D
