Laughing at petsmart stupidity

I didn't even know he did this part until I checked out and saw JD on the receipt and not the firemouth. Sorry, but at this point I wasn't about to stop the cashier in the middle of ringing up the next customer to fix a problem where someone hears firemouth and write jack dempsey.

Next time I go in I'll bring a color book, some round, square and triangle blocks and a book of ABC's, he needs that long before we start talking fish.

in my experience at petsmart they write down a stock number, not the common name of the fish involved. it could just as easily been a typo for the cashier ringing it up, or the kid writing down one number wrong.

I love people who bash other's mistakes and call them stupid; gotta put other people down to make themselves feel better. they are such pleasant people. its definitely a sign of inadequate self-esteem.
 
i usually just tell them what i know. someone almost sold me an armored raphael as a pleco, but i pointed out the clear differences, didn't want to be a jerk.

but, there should be some higher standards for some of their employees, i'm sure some of them just needed the job as opposed to being experienced, as happens with most of us [i started at a hardware store 3 years ago knowing NoThInG, people getting frustrated and angry didn't help me learn, when people helped i was more than happy to listen]
 
:ROFL: Better hope neither of the fish die. Though Petsmart has a 14 day guarentee on their fish, your receipt shows that you have a JD and a green severum. So what will ya do when your bringing in a dead FM or Gold sev? I would guess at this point the "stupid petsmart" will now show it's superiority over you:grinno:
 
its not his responsibility to teach the kid, pointing out his stupidity though was uneccesary though. if this had happened at a lfs then it would have been good to correct them.

chain stores litterally give a living creature a sku number, so if a number is copied wrong, and they lose some money, good. it would be so much easier to just copy down the fishes name wouldnt it. the kid also should have been with an experienced employee, its not our responsibility to train a retail personal who works for a large company who wouldnt even notice the 200 dollars extra missing it would cost to train them better, or maybe give them a better pay so maybe they might actually try harder to know what they are doing

bottom line, i think its completly petsmarts fault, not the kids

Congratulations, rock- you must feel like a big man now! Sold your dignity and sense of morals for a few bucks. Yes, go laugh in Petsmart's face! What a deal! Who knew feigning ignorance at the cost of any sense of morals you had could be so profitable! Now you can take the extra few bucks and go to Starbucks- maybe you'll get lucky and be undercharged there as well!! Now, THAT would be a good day.
