Another death caused by a cops taser.

What ever happend to good old fashioned getting your arse beat by a baton when you resist arrest? A baton wont kill but will leave a few bruises but surely wont cause death. What do you guys and gals think? I think they should ban tasers and just give the person a good old arse beating for resisting.

personally I think this thread is going to get closed to promoting police brutality; but to answer your question, I would much rather use a non-lethal form of protection that reaches 35 ft rather than a stick.

"The officers tried to arrest the man, he resisted, "a violent struggle ensued" and the officers hit him with their batons, Garcia.
When that didn't work, at least one of the officers shot him with a Taser, Garcia said."

there it is...
they shoulda hit him harder....

Don't resist arrest, and for that matter don't put yourself in the position to get arrested. Then you won't have to face either.

i like that answer

You're going to have exceptions for every rule. Should we really ban tasers because a couple of chumps abuse it. Should we ban guns because some cops have shot suspects unwarranted? If you said yes, then England sounds like the right place for you.

The fact is, lethal police shootings dropped by 12-15% (can't remember the exact number) in DFW when tasers were implemented in 2006. They help as a whole, but can be abused just like everything else.
