Tasers save a lot of lives, many times the only other opyion an officer has is his gun, deadly force. I would rather be tasered then centermassed with a 40 caliber.
I would rather be tasered. crap happens even when using usually non leathal methods. I've heard of a guy dying due to a cop pepper spraying him.
some people are ***holes and some of those ***holes are cops, but even more ***holes are criminals. You have to respect the fact that a cops job has them dealing with people at their worst moments.... all day long.

They arent called non-lethal alternatives, rather less-lethal. Id rather be tazed a dozen times before beat with a baton. What's sad is storied like this make the news. Not all the stories were lives were saved because the officer had the choice of his taser instead of his firearm.

Some LEO's do abuse their power, but mot do not. And they have been trained to take no crap, it could cost their lives, a suspect stalling for a few seconds in his car could easily whip out a gun.

We had to do it in a training course I participated in.
It was just announced that in Canada, the Royal Candian Mounted Police will no longer use tasers to deal with people who are resisiting arrest.
