Leaf Fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I had one that lasted a long time in a 55gal. It liked sinking shrimp pellets and frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp. He was extremely shy at first but quickly became very tame and would wait for me to give him his food. I changed roughly 20% of the water monthly and he never showed signs of ill health.

They do grow slowly. If you do a little bit of surgery, you can put some high quality pellets into the feeders. It's terrible, I know. But if you hurry and your fish are somewhat used to you,you can get the feeders to swim a little bit so the LF will still go after them with the pellets in them. Also you can try to gut loaded them an hour or so before you feed the to the LF . Vary their diet. Lots of smaller water changes ,verses on big one. Just keep in mind that they are pretty slow growers . Try SA Leaffish, I like them alot better. Just my opinion. I have spawned them in the mid 1990's. They are 99.9% LIVE food eaters. Just cannot get them to try anything else.

They don't grow fast and mine live in a 55 gallon. I have too and I think they mated 2 days ago. Mine love each other. They grow so slow though. I have had mine for 4 years and ones about 4 inches and ones about 3. I feed mine live foods, flakes, blood worms (freeze dried), and tubifex worms. Hope this helps oh wait I already replied to this lol
