ok sorry but that was pretty stupid..i would never put a tig in a tank with somethin 3 times it size...but man you guys feeders are suppose to be 20cents to 200dolla lol...i feel bad for the tig

o and for your wallet

The lima would be the biggest concern in my opinion, they grow alot slower then the tiger shovelnose and definately slower then the RTCxTSN hybrid. I would say that if you wanted to keep them together for life then a pond is going to be your only bet but to last a while I would say at least a 240 gallon. If you do decide to pursue this with those fish I would be sure to pick up your Lima at probably twice the size of your hybrid cat and hope that he doesn't try to eat the lima. The RTC side of your hybrid presents the biggest problem because most of the hybrids have a RTC sized mouth ie freaking huge :) I am keeping a 7" lima shovelnose with a 12" tiger shovelnose with no problems right now in my 240 but they have grown up together since 2.5" ~Trent

your tsn, rtc x tsn will quickly outgrow your lima unless it is in the 18-24" range already. They don't so much enjoy each other's company as much as they will probably school unless there is territory to be had then fight. When one is big enough to see the other as prey gulp! Bye bye lima! Your tsn and tsn x rtc should be fine together though. Good luck.

To everyone else here are some pics of size comparison of my catfish together. Remember the tsn x rtc is 28 1/2 inches as of today and the tsn x blochii is only 16 inches. No aggression is shown except when it is feeding time, then I must feed the tsn x rtc until almost bursting then the others can eat lol. Don't worry if he does get eaten I will post pics for everyone to laugh at. At my expense I might add also. I am debating weather to put him in my 100 gal pond for fear he might eat my very slender planiceps. I don't think he would be too comfortable in my 40 gal wide either. Ehh, enjoy the pics!

lol, didn't mean to repeat you amazon looks like we posted the same time!

Please don't put the planiceps into any danger, I'm living vicariously through your planiceps right now and couldn't bear the loss :) On a serious note though, you feed your cats a ton so I probably wouldn't be that worried about the RTCxTSN eating the smaller hybrid yet with only a 12" size difference. However when your RTCxTSN is about 36" and the other guy is like 20"....we might have pics at your expense and one very satisfied RTCxTSN hybrid ~Trent

Thats what happens we catfish peeps are surfing at the same time, did it on that other guys sick tsn post as well, gotta love it

I am a little worried about my planiceps. can't really tell if he is eating, but I assume he is. His fin is healing nicely too. He's the least active cat i have ever owned. save for a spotted rapheal. I just never see his belly bulge and he won't accept any shrimp, krill, beefheart or pellets. i had no choice but to put some feeders from my 10 gal q tank in there. I keep them there under observation until I feel it's safe to feed them. seems like some have disapeared. I wouldn't have put live fish for him at all, but with his injuries from shipping I wanted him to get some nutrition so he could heal up!

oh, i am not sure the other hybrid will ever reach 20 inches he's only grown like an inch in the past 9 months. lol. Pretty sure he's about maxed out. He only eats cichlid pellets after lights out and then only about 10 or so of the large ones every other night. He just won't eat anything else i have tried. the mid sized hybrid is 21" grown 4 inches in the same time frame, and the big boy a steady inch a month.

I got it from my LFS in So Cal.

Pretty expensive feeder, probably woulda recommended at least a 16" tig for safety sake with a marble pim that size though, they have HUGE appetites and a big mouth like a RTC. Sorry for your loss though that sucks, if you don't mind me asking where did you find tigs right now because I'm half way looking to pick one up ~Trent
