poor fish

I am a little worried about my planiceps. can't really tell if he is eating, but I assume he is. His fin is healing nicely too. He's the least active cat i have ever owned. save for a spotted rapheal. I just never see his belly bulge and he won't accept any shrimp, krill, beefheart or pellets. i had no choice but to put some feeders from my 10 gal q tank in there. I keep them there under observation until I feel it's safe to feed them. seems like some have disapeared. I wouldn't have put live fish for him at all, but with his injuries from shipping I wanted him to get some nutrition so he could heal up!

Least active? That is weird. Planiceps are usually always swimming midwater. I dont trust any big pims with anything. They play nice one day, then you turn the lights off and things end up missing. A 20" black arowana I traded into my lfs awhile back just got killed by an 18" red tail. The red tail decided it didnt want anymore tankmates.

I also had donated two red tails(16") and a silver arowana(19") to my local zoo. I came back a year later to visit and i asked where the arowana was. The 32"+ red tails ate it. Gotta love the pims

speaking of big pims... a little off topic sorry but thought all the shovelnose lovers would enjoy this, can you say freaking beast! Planiceps baby all the way ~Trent

You should of known darn well! before you put a babie tiger with a 20'' Marbled Salfin Pim

I have redtail catfishes one of it i had my brother come to my room and show him my very fast growing 15' redtail cat name, Vega i just got back home from fishing one night and had a 12'inch live perch.

My bother asked me what is you going to do with the perch? (i going to feed him!:FIREdevil )(:headbang2 in my mind i was saying: feed him! feed him!) by the way i has a 3ft shovel head in the tank with my rtc and my female 13inc jaguar and two pairans and a pacu my bother thought that i will going to feet my 3ft shovel head catfish. (NOpe.) i cut the tail of the perch an drop it in and my redtail cat saw him coming out of the rocks vega bite and like a pit bull dog/bull with horns shaking his head smothering the perch into the sand.
and swolled it whole.(my brother was like woooh!:jaw: Dude! that fish is a beast!!:nilly: ) (-yeap..)

the perch was in it's stomach for five and a half to six hours flipping around in its stomach before it died!

My brother was suprise about that too! I learn about how much a fish can handle cathing fish and knowing what is in there stomachs you be suprise all the hard stuff it can trun all into.... poop!

a Marbled Salfin Pim is no different!

 :FIREdevil :headbang2 :headbang2
I got it from my LFS in So Cal.
