I would notify the police since there is a leash law. The only other thing you can do is muzzle your dog when you are going to go in that neighborhood so it doesn't bite the dog. That really seems to be all you can do sadly :(
Its unfair for your dog but it's better than the other dog being bit and your dog having to pay the price(even though it isn't her fault).

I don't get what you are saying, that if the dog bites another dog, the biter pays the price? There isn't a dog tribuneral!?! The dogs in question aren't biting humans. If a dog on a leash bites another dog not on a leash, it is not the biters fault, if anything, the dog off a leash would get a fine. Authorities don't care if one dog bites another, especially if the biter was on a leash and was doing nothing wrong. They only ark up if humans are involved.

You would be surprised how much people get upset when a large dog bites(or kills) a smaller dog, no matter the circumstances. The dog is suddenly labeled "dangerous" and everyone starts worrying about the safety of their children. I have seen it happen in my own city.
I don't know what type of dog you have but if it even looks or is related to a pit then things get a lot worse.
Why take the risk?

All 3 times my old pit attacked other dogs, he was on a leash. 2 of the 3 dogs attacked by my dog were on leashes as well, their owners were idiots for bringing their dogs by my dog after yelling for them to go away. There's only so much you can do with a 100 lbs of muscle fighting against you. The last dog my dog attacked was unleashed but my dog was still taken because of the 2 prior attacks (only one was reported). The dog I rescued had fight scars all over his face/body which did not bode well for him, but I always was sure to mention I rescued him from fighting. It didn't help apparently.

It's also a bit different with my old dog that I'm talking about. I feel like he may be more aggressive than any dog in mention. The dog was good with people, but not for one second did I ever trust him. He had blood lust.

Exactly, don't take the risk, keep your yap yap dogs on a leash as well!

When I take my dogs for walks, they are Staffordshire Bull Terriers, If I see another person walking their dog on a leash coming up, I cross the road, makes it alot easier, they still go nuts though.

My dogs have killed a few animals in their time, they just have a natural instinct the take out another animal. They have killed a cat, a dog, birds, and lots of lizards.

The cat was the neighbours, it jumped the fence. My Maori neighbour was pretty cool with it, he said it was the cats fault, he told the cat if it wasn't careful, it would become the dogs dinner one day.

The dog was another neighbours, it was a little cross breed, it found its way though a small hole in the wooden fence into my yard(my dogs could not get into their yard) my dogs thought it was a toy. The dog survived the attak, but died later of shock at the vet. Again, not my dogs fault.

My dogs did escape once at my old house, escape artists they are. I have reinforced the gate that my male plowed through, it was really rotten. He decided to dig under the gate, scrapping his head on an exposed nail and ripping a huge chunk of flesh from his head, you could see his skull. I ended up concreting the entire perimiter. Anyway, he was out. He ended up attacking another dog, I got a fine, but they didn't class him as a dangerous dog as when the ranger came around to inspect my place, he found that he was very human friendly. They have not got out since.

Here are my dogs, syddakyd post a pic of your dog.

some people theorized she might even me a "not-well bred" boxer. shes highly dog/animal aggressive. almost caught my cat/killed...killed a squirrel... only had her for about 6 months

long muzzle, big teeth (boxers usually have nubs) shallower chest, and strange brindle colours, no papers, from tennessee and was found in a ditch. she was brought up to NY

when people think boxer, they think of dogs like this....
boxer.jpg

thats how my last two looked like (and acted like) lol

Yes, definitely pit in him. He has the head shape and has the lean traits of a pit.

Nice dog.

Everyone thinks my red nose girl is a pit because of her coloured nose. She has the body size and head shape as a staffy. I beleive her liver coloured nose is relected from her coat colour.

yea its weird because this is our third dog. the first two were pure boxers. boomer died of cancer of liver kidney and spleen at age 5. it was horrible. bandit was hit with kidney disease. they gave him this thing to reverse the effects and get the water weight out to make him feel better but it was hopeless. he died at 9ish. we werren't sure of his exact age since he was also a rescue. he was a fear-biter and dog aggro.

Bella (the current) takes the aggression to another level but is extremely people friendly. a little too friendly LOL.

she gets mixed reviews. some people say she is an improperly bred boxer (went too far from the breed standard)....others say she is part pit. (pit/boxers are a very common mix)

either way...she isn't a "normal" boxer per say and hopefully that will lead to her living to a regular age for a dog her size (say 13-15 hopefully).

one thing that happends that crazy though when she gets really pissed at whatever...she gets this high pitched whelping/weird noise going on and her eyes get blood red
