Any pics of that set up? never really seen the single bright on a tank...

Thanks for the great review! I have been wondering how these lights look on a tank. I'm going to try a couple on my 210g.

Excellent writeup, thanks fo taking the time! I am considering these but I have two questions. I currently run 2 t5 fixtures on my 175. In each fixture I have 4 bulbs 2 X 39w blue actinic and 2 X 39W 10,000k. Does anyone know if these will be as bright? And will I get te same color combination look of white and blue actinic with these lights?

From what i been told, the LED lighting will give your tank more of a natural look. So its alot different than the actinic/10k combo. I used to like the look of the 50/50 lights until i found out that the actinic lights will increase the chances of creating more algae in your tank. As far as the brightness goes, Im sure it will not be as bright as your tank if you are running 8 x t5 bulbs.

LEDs, I remember when the tech went mainstream and the buz was how they were obsurdley cheap to manufacture and impliment. Somehow 10 years later LED prices are ridiculously high and implimentation is still uneven. LED TV's etc. What gives. A LED fixture should realisically cost about 1/3 to make.

great review! im waiting for a detailed review of the reef ready one since it's suppose to have a better light color compared to the double bright.

The double bright is barely more than a moonlight in my 150 tall....The ecoxotic module I have is far brighter. Check out the reviews of these little guys at marinedepot.com. I will have a second one soon....$95. each and soooo worth it.
