Bump to an old thread. I finaly got some ebay style 30W led floods in a 10k color. MUCH better than the 6-7K I had tried. They look great on my fish I htink...here is a vid of 2 on my 125 right on the glass cover. I have the sellers name in the description on youtube.

Very nice, they come in 10k now? When I bought them all they had was 6k and 3k.

Same here...I tried the 6-7k ones and they were way too yellow. I just found out about these earlier this week from a thread in the DIY tank section (nolapetes post) and tried them out. The color is very nice...no yellow...nice white and does pretty well on the fish colors.

I think its a mix of decorus and multipuntatus (spelling) It was sold as decorus but those have bands...it is pretty I hope it can make it once these fish get full grown. I dont know how big it will get...hasnt gotten much bigger than it is already so IDK.

I had told the seller of these he needs to do 50watters. He just told me he should have them next week...and 100w and 200w for the big big tanks. I think he has one of those regular companies making him special ones that produce 10k. I might wait for the 50's for my 96x30x30. I bet 4 high off the water would cover the whole thing and make some amazing shimmers!

The 10w's (22) I bought blew their drivers, most within 6-12 months; some in as few as 3 months, a couple lasted over a year. I expected that when I bought them. I figured the led and aluminum housing was worth the cost. After the first one went out, I bought bulk replacement drivers and replaced them as they blew. I haven't had a problems since. I still recommend them. I love the lights and the plants I had did great.

The replacements cost less than $5 in bulk

The 30w's (3) blew their drivers too, Even the replacements blew every 6 months. A couple of months ago I put the metal halides back on the tank and use the last 30w as a moon light, which it does a pretty good job. I don't recommend the 30w's unless you know of a good replacement driver.

I bought my lights in Jan or Feb 2011 so things may have gotten better. All of mine are the 6-7K. They also did the blinking before dying.

Tank is dirty but here is a video of the plants. This is 6 of the 10w's
