LED Polypterus Lighting w/Remote :-)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This is awesome! Great post man. Do you have links to where you ordered from? I would like to order one as well

Yes, Justin it's been a long time.... You'll love this inexpensive device. The adjustments are crazy! Love what you're doing on the 600 project. These LED's are everywhere on amazon and ebay like a virus, lol. I'd go with these: SMD 5050 RGB LED strip. Cost for the entire kit delivered is under $30 for 32' or under $20 for the 16'. If you decide to cut the strips to cleanly mount (turns on each end). Recommend the harness kits to avoid some DIY soldering/wiring. Good luck!

Yes it has. I hope you are doing well. If I ever get into the poly side of things you are the first I'll call! I'll take a look. The harness is a great call. Thanks for the kudos on the build. I'm having fun.

This sounds kind of gimicky but I wonder what these lights would look like a on a K1 bio reactor? Those white pellets would reflect the light a lot.

It'll look good on anything, lol. Red Green Blue +/- adjustment on DIY mode is the best feature imo. It allows you to fine tune the white led color hues to your liking. U know to enhance the aro and sting rays in your 600g.

I was gonna ask...

you get 15 feet... umm, to be completely ignorant, how do you "stop it" at 4 feet lol?

Simple project to start. Mount it on anything solid that's around the house. Supplies I had from other projects - Plastic ceiling egg crate, zip ties, and purchased the 32' led kit. If u decide to use the egg crate. A 6 footer will hold together nicely, and lightweight enough for a small person to manage :-)

this was part of the tutorial I was looking for. Heh that's funny with your daughter balancing the light on her head. That's pretty good!
