LED Polypterus Lighting w/Remote :-)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Simple project to start. Mount it on anything solid that's around the house. Supplies I had from other projects - Plastic ceiling egg crate, zip ties, and purchased the 32' led kit. If u decide to use the egg crate. A 6 footer will hold together nicely, and lightweight enough for a small person to manage :)

Hahab child labor....real slave driver atleast let her use her hands

This sounds kind of gimicky but I wonder what these lights would look like a on a K1 bio reactor? Those white pellets would reflect the light a lot.

I've got a plan to build a monster tank eventually (8'x4'x2') and I have been fascinated by fluidized filters and what I was thinking was having either the back pane or side panes be visible fluidized filters being lit up by moon lights

Yes. That was her contribution to this build and to make sure each end is evenly balanced.

now thats using your head

That would be pretty interesting :)

Vancouver_98683 Vancouver_98683 , how much did you pay for your egg crate? How did you cut it? I can only find a 4x2 light diffuser for $14 at my local Lowe's. Does that sound about right?

For those looking at ideas to mount the strips. Old shop light that I was gonna throw out would work. Hundreds of ideas, lol. Just took apart the housing. May use it in the future.

Do you have any other suggestions to mount or elevate the egg crates above the lid. maybe with coasters?
