What size tank would be good enough to keep a single leichardti in? Its still very small under a foot. I have a 250 gallon, 8L 2.5 H 1.5Wide, but im not sure if 1.5 is wide enough to keep a leichardti in? Should i shoot for something 2' wide and maybe only 7 long or 6 long? Also 400$ for a 240 gallon acrylic 8L 2H 2W is a good deal right?

general rule of thumb for arowanas is to try for 8 foot by 3 foot at least. but minimum size can be about 6 foot by 2.5 foot. dont go smaller...

the reality is that if he buys a 180 then hed probably have to uy another tank in the distant future. arowanas dont grow as fast as other fish. it shud be fine for about 2-3 years in a 180. especially if he buys a baby.

In the real world? Look at Steve's Leichardti it's 30"+. IMO you need a tank minimum of 3 ft wide.

Easy tiga... If you noticed Steve's lei is in a pond.
Here is a quick question for ya. Other than Steve's I have never heard of any Lei close to 30" that has lived in a tank from day 1?
Most people do not have the room for such a large tank, or mutiple tanks. Should they not keep such a fish? Hell no!!

They should get the fish they are interested in keeping and keep up water quality and have a large healthy fish.

On the other hand there are people that have no common sense when it comes to money;) and have more than enough room to keep monster tanks but thats another story.:)
