In my opinion Silvers are alot more "jumpy" than Jars,i cant say anything about Asians as i have neve had the luck of seeing 1 in person.As stated earlier my Jar will sink to the bottom of the tank while i do water changes.

Theyre made of arowana

Too bad these are the only ones that somewhat resemble the much desired Asian counterparts that we can get in the states. Who cares if a Silver or black has nice barbels, they are the jumpiest fish I've ever encountered. Monster fish arent supposed to freak out like they do IMO. Barbels shmarbles, I say.

Well if you walked around your house nake your aro would get spook and traumatized. The aro has never seen a worms so fat and long. Is there anything to help reduce the aro being less skittish? Are lei barbel supposed to point downward?

Traumatized or jealous?
To calm them down you could paint or cover the sides and reduce the light or make it more of a blackwater type setup.
Leis are the only ones that should point down (Rich told me when I got mine)

Some people say asians are also jumpy but from my experience they're really calm. Even during water changes, if the pipe or my hand brushes against them they really dont do anything.
