you got some good photos amongst them. i liked seeing the differences in red spots between your lei and my jar. must have been the pigments in the fish when they went for a treck further north that made for the asian reds. ive been fishing up north and i do see that there are some weedbeds around that the red dots may help with camoflouge but i often wonder why nature chose for the all over red asians.

They do look different than the Jars! I agree with you Miguel...they have a more rounded face.

hey thanks a lot demjor. i used to have issues in the past with my GG chasing my silvers around, but i have that buttikoferi in there also and a pacu and peacock bass and them 4 are bickering machines. they don't bother the silvers one bit now and haven't for over a year. but as the GG aged, he really doesn't bother anything at all now. he does have a special area i consider to be his, and when other fish try to hang out, he trys to push them out.
and for the Lei, they are Entirely different then the jars. im not to sure who said they were the same, or close to being the same, but in my opinion from a baby size all the way to adult, ive seen almost no similiarities. its kinda like comparing a jar to an asian, or a lei to an asian. they are so different in so many ways. bull fu man chu's on jars are stubbby and slightly outish, lei's are like upside down bull horns that point away like a mustach. body's on jars are tall n fat, lei's are beefy yet slender and have a elongated shape compared to the jar's short stubby shape. colors are jus total opposites.

yah usually not lol. lei's are seasonal usually, and when they come, they flood the whole hobby. then all of a sudden, blank and u wont see them for a while, maybe a year, maybe more.

WOW! Nice collection!! Glad the aggression of the GG and Butti aren't killing everything! My GG just snapped after she got a certain size. Age will do it as well. Great work!
Never seen a lei in LFS ever. Jars are available basically all year round over here i think.
