I have used a Blue x Gold offspring to produce Blue Dempseys, so this confirms they are Het for Blue... I am confident they will prove Het for Gold and will eventually veryify this (I currently have the fish to do so, just haven't put them together).

Nicely done. This is similar to how people genetically dissected eye development - they found blind fish of the same species in different caves, and made some crosses. Some complemented each other and they were able to identify genes involved in different steps in the pathway.

I have the Blue Dempsey pair in a 125 Gal with a breeding Colony of Red Hump Geos... and that tank is just doing to darn well to break up
