Very nice tank question i heard that matas matas are hard to keep because they need very acidic water is this true by any chance???

they like black water but do not bask or leave the water......My Lent injured my last one. It did not recover.

I no longer have the mata. I only had one.....second time I tried. the first one drowned. They are terrible swimmers....especially for a fully aquatic animal.

Oh okay didn't known i guess thats why in zoos they are in really shallow water i guess
