I don't know how to say what I want to say nicely, so I'll just say that is a gigantic stretch. Animals don't give birth prematurely because they eat too much.

It was just a thought. Premature litter has only happened to me once out of six litters. One thing I've noticed is that the pups seem to squirm around a lot more after I feed my rays. It just makes me wonder if they are feeling cramped. I'm sure rays don't stuff themselves in their natural habitat. Again JUST A THOUGHT!:chillpill:

hmm well it cant hurt to give it a try next time! hope you have better luck in the future...

you make a good point here freddy..... rays dont eat in the wild like they do in our tanks... maybe slightly less food during her term would be better... try it next time around brent :)

Well actually they do. And not just rays either. Pretty much a natural response to not having enough room in the womb. If the stomach stretches and pushes into the womb this would be a normal response. That's why in Humans multiple births of more then three babies are almost always premature. 99.999999999999999999999999999% of the time. There is only so much room and elasticity before something has to give.;)

Good point. I currently have two females expecting pups. One in two weeks and one in 8 weeks. The one due in 8 weeks is the one that had a premature litter a year ago and hasn't bred until now. I will feed her small portions through out her pregnacy and hope everything works out better than last time. I'll keep you guys posted.

Sorry to hear. I hope there arent any complications with the other pups :(
