Leohen Still Prego. How Long Is Too Long?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Okay I'll join in. A little different but kinda similar. My ray just gave birth recently but also never lost the weight and girth that she did before with previous births. Before was 11 pups and she honestly looked really flat after, you could tell she lost a ton of weight and girth with that pregnancy. She is super thick still and also kept swimming at the top of the tank like she is pregnant. And keeps doing so. She did have a male in with her the whole time she was pregnant. I also keep looking for movement and am not 100 percent sure if I see any. Did see some possible breeding just under1.5 months ago but as I said had always been thick from giving birth and showing signs of being pregnant. I did change my diet to more pellets vs frozen fish. I've started to cut back my food feedings and wonder if I was feeding to much during the previous pregnancy or what might be up. With the girth. She is a big girl close to 24 inches and thick as can be. Maybe it's summer girth for winter. Lol

Sounds very similar to my female

Not sure if everyone remembers the story but- my female gave birth to 2 pups but still looked thick. I figured she was gonna give birth to a few more a few days later... We she never had more pups but kept getting fatter and fatter. Here we are 6 months later, shes still huge, and hasnt been with a male since

Damn sounds like you should stick a male in there Trevor, she may not be pregnant as you thought, no point wasting time getting her there again. And if she is by some odd chance, though it doesn't look like it, adding the male may make her drop them?

Any possibility of birthing "fluid" staying in the uterus, or like a still born pup or something that isn't getting absorbed? Just trying to think why multiple people are reporting thicker than regular females, maybe uterine walls get thicker for some reason?

Personally I would be patient and not add any males or anything. Do you think she has been eating lots of extra and maybe put on weight?

I wonder if my female is bigger because the male was working on her while she was still pregnant. Not sure if that would do anything really different but my only thing that I see different this time around.

I think I see very faint movment from my female. Should know more in a could weeks. I hope I hope I hope, Leo father it will be.

She is freaking huge! Try cutting back on food for a day or two and see if the pups throw a fit? If she is reabsorbing I could see adding a male as being too stressful.
