Hey guys. Hoping to hear from some of you regarding these awesome looking fish. I've done my homework, but I'd like to hear from some of the experienced folks on hear concerning some specifics. If you have any input to any of the following questions, AND you have kept this fish before, please respond at will:

1. I live in Orlando and the LFS is hard to come by around here since the "mini-recession". I have yet to spot one of these in any of the area LFS. I have one store that sounded like they could order it for me, but it would cost me (no specific amounts yet). If you got yours from an LFS, how much did you pay? I have found 1 place online where they can be ordered (LiveAquaria), but it will be close to $60 after ship.

2. What dry foods do you feed them. What live foods do you feed them? I've heard they like shrimp, bloodworms, mealworms. Just looking for some experienced advice here.

3. What kind of feeding schedule do you keep them on? How often dry? How often live?

Well, that's it for now. Any other nuggets you guys want to add would be welcomed. Thanks in advance. Lance.
 
i never got mine to eat pellets... i had it eating any frozen but when he got to the size of my hand i had him on silversides
 
Yeah, I have had several over the years, almost always from petsmart. They are awesome fish, I have never had any problem getting them to eat flakes, pellets or anything else. Just keep them with other fish who eat dry stuff and they will learn. I've never had mine become predatory, I feed them once a day and they do t bother anyone. They will grow crazy fast until about 3-4 inches and then slow down quite a bit. Great fish with great personality
