I have been looking around lately and was thinking about how the market has been flooded by leos and balls
the morphs in these two are amazing and I do not believe this will never end, but it seems as though everyone is wanting to become a breeder to make profit and pretty much "using" the hobby
I have also noticed that the morphs that many people have worked so hard to make in the leo world (ie. ron tremper) have been sold off to foe blow and they breed them to their high yellow and boom bam they are a breeder now
so now we have 80 breeders and the market is flooded with all these morphs that have know pure blood which in return is causing the market for these animals to crash and now you can get nice enigmas for 200$
some as low as 75$
I personally am going into breeding as to me it is taking my hobby to the next level, I only plan on getting morphs and animals I enjoy and in which I will have some offspring here and there which lets me get more animals I desire

so sorry for my rant but I would like to get some peoples respones

i think that eventually its gona be hard to find a normal
then normals are gona be priced just as high
but im sure this wont happen for years and years and years
that goes for ball pythons and leos
but i think the patterns and colors are phenomenal
crazy how they can mix and match and come out with something so beautiful

I dont see whats wrong with making cheaper lesser quality rays.
neither do I but this is about geckos

Well it is really hard as it is to find an actual "normal" leopard gecko. The wild caught ones are hard to come by and are pretty spendy. But they do look cool. I don't see what the big deal is with breeding for profit. But it is pretty much like the fish breeding hobby the easier they are to breed the less you will make for it. Just ask Seth he breeds his leos but I don't think he makes anything to impressive off of them.

lol I love when people don't look before posting.
I think it's funny that a lot of people on this site think rays when they see things like "leo" or "retic" (I mean it makes sense, this IS a fish site, although in this case it's in the reptile section :screwy: ), but when I see them-even when people ARE talking about rays-and I always think geckos and snakes

i find this problem to especially bad with bearded dragons

Why do you find this a problem? As long as its not dying or manipulating the reptiles or inbreeding I don't see a problem. Most morphs are line breed for specific traits anyways so its not really harming them.

well the silkbacks are horrible creations
they have no scales just skin
which can lead to skin problems
and also itd be horrible to see the female after breeding
