Less greedy eaters

I agree with Stanzzzz7, the earth eaters of Astatheros, Thorichthys, and the geophagines all seem to prefer small pieces, and eat more slowly as opposed to gluttonizing.

Astatheros rostrum above, A robertson below
So you DO consider Thorichthys a type of Earth-eater? I always thought they bore remarkable resemblance

I think the pearsei is always going to be a pig lol

Deciding on what to put in this tank os becoming more stressful than enjoyable

why? because Earth-eaters aren't aggressive enough to handle the fish you already have? Brasiliensis can be
I believe at some point the braziliensus clade will be given a new genus, separate from Geophagus, they seem very different than true eartheaters.
ya, that just goes to support why..........I say throw 'em in "Andinoacara", or do you think they will create a new monotypic genus just for them?

duanes duanes you've kept bocourti...similar appetites to pearsei right ?

My bocourti ate a 3 ft tall papyrus plant down to nubs, they could also polish off 2 or 3 large dandelions in only a few minutes. If that qualifies as pearsei like (their closest cousin) I'd say yes, very gluttoness.
