I had him in a 150 when he was 4" and killed my 8" RD. Then I left him a lone for a while in the 150. He was about 6" now and I heard about these butti that everyone makes sound like they are the killers of the cichlid world. Well I found a massive 10" butti at a LPS. Paid a pretty penny for it but for me it was worth it because I THOUGHT it would be able to be room mates with my Trimac.... well I dumped him in the morning. Went out for about 4 hours and when I came home he was dead LOL Then this past May I went to Florida for 2 weeks and had one of my moron friends watch my tanks for me. Well this immature idiot brought his 18"-20" Dovii to my place with one of his buddies while I was gone because he wanted to see a fight
well aparently ren and stimpy recorded it too. You know it was bad that when I came home he told me how bad his fish got his *** beat. Then I beat his *** for doing that because if something would have happened to my Trimac I would have killed him LOL Well I have seen the video before and it was kinda sweet I must admit but I know its not right so don't yell at me I was away LOLAnyways the video is on vhs old ghetto recorder so if any of you know how to upload those onto comp let me know lol some people may want to see that.
Anyway now he is in a 4 foot 90 gallon all alone.... sentenced to life LOL

That's a cool story but your Trimac had home court advantage over the visiting Dovii. If your were to take the Trimac to the Dovii's tank it may be the other way around. (But hopefully your not into that kind of stuff)

nice fish one of my favorite cichlids there awesome as a single fish but can be very angering in a community with expensive fish
Ok, you've had him 18 months right? I've had mine for about 4 months and he's grown 4". He's about 5" now. How long will it take him to reach 1'? He resembles yours somewhat, I love the color. He came from TUIC as a 1" fry.

My diet is cichlid biogold+ as the staple and I always keep a bag of the regular hikari cichlid gold just so he doesn't get sick of the other ones. Then whenever I'm bored (every second day lol) I throw in some frozen krill or frozen brine. He has never ate a feeder... I tried before when I was a newbie but he didn't even want them. He just likes to kill them then he leaves there dead bodies.
How big is his tank???? any tank mates???
oh and I forgot to add those spots on his head and body will really get defined when he gets older.... mine was really hidden before too but when he gets older you will see those spots come out with nice pinks and blues.
