Trimacs are the most beautiful cichlids IMO, and your specimen is awesome. I'm surprised this species isn't more popular, given its relative hardiness and stunning appearance. I've never seen one at a LFS.

Flowerhorns remind you of trimacs... great fish. I have not yet found a pure trimac.

So what are some of the ways to tell amp. trimaculatus and a "flower horn" apart?

What about this fish in particular make it flower horn vrs. trimac?

It's alittle over 7 inchs long.
