I was talking to my wife last night, about getting another tank. She said that I can get a 240 or 300 gallon, but it would have to go into the garage. I'm never in the garage, so that would not be great in my opinion.

Where my 300 is now,was a two car garage. We are in the process of converting it over to a den. We have filled in the garage door hole with double swing doors and re-dry walled the whole thing.
Of course, thats when this whole gas and economy thing went to pot.
So we have stopped the project untill better times come along.
But thats the only reason I have my 300 gallon. The garage floor is concrete, so it holds the weight.
If I had to put my aquarium in the actual house, it would be much smaller.

Any updates on this tank. I'm curious to see if you have gotten anything new for it?

also i was wondering about how you leveled the tank it took several bags of qwick create to get mine level in my basement

Not alot has changed. The decor is still the same. But I have been posting mostly on Aquaria Central since I done away with my Cichlids and bought a bunch of small freshwater fish.
I got tired of cleaning up after the cichlids. Everyday they were digging up my gravel and plants. And it was becoming a pain in the *** to fix everything every day.

So now I have 65 new fish that just swim and eat. It's much more relaxing and goes better with my decor.

The only new thing I have bought for the tank is a pair of Coralife 48" Dual T-5 lights. They are awesome!!!! I just need to change out the 6700k bulbs that they came with. They have one Colormax, which I like, and one 6700k bulb in each strip.
I dont like the "yellow" hue the 6700k produces. So I am going to replace them with 10,000k soon.

If you don't care let me know if you are able to find the 10,000k coralife t5 for a decent price somewhere. I ended up using dual 6700 bulbs in mine when I had to replace them on my 210.

that pic of your family moving that very LARGE tank reminds me of when I moved my 240 bought from glass cages, into my house using my friends!! That was a major backache but worth it.

Have any current pictures of it?

so is you're garage level or did u level you're tank. I'm just curious.

You heaters should be fine I got only 2- 300 watt heaters on my 300g and I live where winters are very cold tank has been up 4 years and no problems with temp. The only opinion I have is that if you start getting into bigger fish your filtration will never work. I run a 38g sump that flows 1800gph and 1- fx5 and I am in the middle of revamping to a 55g sump w/ 20g of bioballs and 2 biotowers because the present setup cant keep up with the bioload of 8 large fish. Looks great though keep up the good work

I had to level the tank. The floor was out about 1/4 over the 8 foot span of the tank.
So we cut some shims half the length of the tank and put under the stand. I also added some more center braces to the stand to help with the load on the un-level surface.
Then a sheet of 1" foam between the tank and stand.
She is completely level all the way around.
