Welcome to the world of festae. I started off with 10 and had them in a 20g tank for growout and then they went into a 55g once they put on some size. Well that was all fine and dandy, and then I put them into a 1200 gallon pond and a pair formed and killed every other festae in the pond! They spawned and got along beautifully for three months in a 120g tank, but when I went home for Christmas for a week the male killed the female.

That's a terrible loss. I hope that doesn't happen with my Festae. I would really like to keep a pair for a long time. Now the male is digging a deep pit in front of his cave and no one is allowed near it. He has really flipped a switch!
