So, I picked up substrate and plants available at my LFS, the price is quite expensive than usual cause covid-19, I knew I can order online for much cheaper but I want to help out local business during the difficult time so I'm fine with the price. Anyway, the tank look quite alive now. I'm not trying to create a design planted tank LOL my focus point is create an nature eco-system instead follow the book and organizing all the plants

New tank arrived (Fluval Flex 32.5G), I just setup and filled it up.
I'm planning to keep species tank only, this will be home for Exodon Paradoxus, my favorite fish species of all time. It's gonna take awhile for fishless cycle to complete (adding substrate and plants along the way).

It's my dry saltwater rock I have for many years.
I soaked in freshwater for few weeks before I place them in freshwater tank.
I used these rocks in place of bio-media materials, before someone mention these rocks leech calcium and other trace element into water then I knew that and it's not my concern

Lovely stuff guys.
Here things have scaled down since I am usually away studying. Have my 75 gallon running now with my bichir, 5 EBA and an Ellioti cichlid:

It's ugly but the fish are doing alright.

Next my 15gal scape. Recovering with a new carpet, tore the old one out due to hair algae. Holds WCMM, cherry shrimp and amanos


My "wild" tank. Holds centromochlus perugaie, kuhli loaches and my female betta. The fish love the leaf litter
