is that a silver aro, that u are trying for colour from sunlight?? just a doubt...
It's a Super Red. Just an FYI, Silver Aros do get color from sunlight(darker color).
 
well good to know that u have UV to counter the algea later all u got to di is hook it up :P
it would be perfect then and i cant wait how its progress from direct sun..it might tan it naturally :)

i tried outdoor with no UV ... very green indeed

Hopefully it is an SR (that is what certificate says anyway)... i have a horrible feeling that he will end up intense orange ... let's see

Thanks, there are some advantages of living in tropics ^^ that said, the heating is still required in winter months cos the temperature can drop below 20C ... i found that out the hard way ... but of course no where near the severity of where you are from lol

Indeed - an update is in order. The beastie is definitely coloring up nicely. Sunlight and all plus my father finally found his favorate diet (apart from SW which is not readily available where i am from) - earthworms. he eats them like a champ.

IMG_0432.jpgthe orange rim are definitely moving toward the tail while the front bits are getting darker ... as i suspected this fella aint gonna be red - best outcome probably deep orange - but who knows
