Can anyone ID this guy? I have very little knowledge of geos. I bought this fish a year or 2 ago labeled as a rainbow eartheater but can't really find much in on that name. I thought he mite be an altifron but his tail markings are stripes rather than spots. Maybe a Geophagus surinamensis? It is s a beautiful fish about 7" and currently in a 150 gallon that might would love to turn into a spieces tank if I can get a positive ID

Bought this from a hobbyist. He was quitting. The diet was tetra bits. Tankmates are 3 severum and rotkiel in 180 Gallon tank

Well I just feed the tank with powdered nori, krill and some sinking pellets, the geophagus became a pig, even nipping the alpha rotkiel. Can someone ID the geophagus? They say it's a surinamensis? I don't know...

He's probably too small to Id..maybe someone else can. Might be an altifron

He/she is 4 inches. Will follow up after a month to see if the behavior improves.

First pic is satanoperca jurupari. Second pic I would not venture a guess. Many types have this typical "Surinamensis" look but are not true.

#2 looks like a winemilleri. that would be my guess.
