Didn't realize I hadn't got to kick in pics of mine in yet. My 225 will be dedicated to the G. Abalios and Heckelii. I will be adding x3 more Abalios and x2 Heckelii to the 225g and moving the Mapiritensis to the 135g.

The 135g will be dedicated to red head Tapajo/S. Daemon and the S. Mapiritensis. Keep an eye on my sig for the tank build thread...

I would be posting a lot more but my P & S camera sucks! It takes HD video but the actual pictures I take turn out horrible, could be me! I'll just try to get a vid and post an update on my collection. I've got some nice additions that should be shipped out sometime this week! I'll post a video once they settle in.

I doubt we'd see them in an eartheater thread after that paper Kullander published yanking them from the Geophagine tribe due to DNA evidence.

Yeah, I'm still wondering about that one. They seem more Geophagine than Crenicichla lol. Retroculus have their own sub-family now right? Retroculinae?

Nope, baseline Cichlasomine according to the article summary, so closer to port cichlids than geo's ... still scratching my head about the pikes too *lol*

When I get back home, I'll fire the name/date of the Kullander article to you in PM. I am on vacation so don't have my usual references handy. I really want to read that article though. I mean I suppose I can accept bringing Guianacara back into the Geophagine family despite not having the classic Geophagine markers, but leaving out Retroculus is puzzling since they do have the classic Geophagine markers. I mean I understand the theory of convergant evolution but come on ... *l* I think DNA is going to royally FUBAR classic taxonomy.
