Let's see those Festaes!!

I just placed my TUIC order, and it pains me to report that I did not order a wild caught female Festae to go with my male. I was extremely tempted, but I do see Festaes for sale around here from time to time. Also,I'm going through an ordeal with my Hemichromis frempongis, I'm not sure Iwant to deal with a psycho pair of Festaes on top of that at this moment. For sure I plan on doing it once I get my basement fishroom up and running, hopefully my male Festae will be mature enough to handle one o fRapp's wild females by then.

I ended up ordering some Caquetaia spectabilis(3-3.5"), they will go in a 90. They will get upgraded someday, but I think they'll do ok in there for a while. I think the fact that I've never seen them for sale had a roll in me choosing them, not to mention their looks.

I also ordered a male cutteri for myfemale cutteri, I guess he's a mail order groom. Or something. Yeah.

Lastly, I ordered a few Neetroplus nematopus to go with the one I have now, that would also be a good fish to breed and distribute.
 
Yeah, was having some second thoughts, wondering if I should have gotten the female Festae instead. But it's too late now. I got e-mailed back that the fish are on the way. So I'm excited about my Caquetaias due to arrive. I'll get a female Festae eventually. Heck, I have a few little Festaes, one of them might turn out to be a female, if they ever start growing, the little buggers.
 
i have just ordered a wild female festae, iam so tempted to buy a male but if i do i wont be able to put my jag or my grammode with them. can i? it will be around the 100g size. i need more tanks:(
 
well, don't know about other fishes, but if u put a fish in there w/the festae pair, they'll definitely kill it when they start mating, no questions asked
 
here's a an update on my big girl. her color got a whole lot better now, and her fins now have white edge around 'em, da's a freakin good sign, means the fins are growing back :D

after this thread, i need to setup a tank for a festae or 2. My LFS has a Red Terror for sale for 15$, i Got some pics of it, but im uploading them so we can vote on Uro or Festae. Great pics, and great fish people!

holy crap, $15???? :WHOA: how big??? send some my way dude!!! but do see if they're true red terrors, make sure they're not false/mayan cichlid
