I would just stick them on the back of the tank.....
 
i use a larger pvc pipe with alot of holes almost honey comb looking and i have pvc with grooves cut along the sides with a dremel also.
 
i have had my hydors for 2yrs+ now with no problems

the trick with them is treat them like a normal hearter and make sure you turn them off when doing tank main or blowing the pipes or they will blow up if they get air in them
 
I never heard of these nor ever thought they were needed. gee they come up with new stuff every day.
 
I drilled holes in a PVC pipe and put the spray bar from my canister in the PVC beside the heater, so there was no worry about dead spots. I've since swithced to a hydor and definitey think it's a much better idea, along with getting the unsightly heater out of the tank.
