I just seen the snake comment also. And That also is not a good idea. The snakes need a larger food than Fruit flies and the larger food items could potentially harm the frogs.

Have you started culturing FF yet? It is good to atleast make sure you can keep ff cultures going before you get the frogs. Also agood idea to seed the tank with springtails for a few weeks before getting the frogs.
springtails????

DO not mix the dart frogs. I see you are from pittsburgh. Can I ask what pet store you are buying them from. I vend at the pittsburgh bird and reptile show and sell to a couple of people who own pet store up there. I Live about 30 minutes from pittsburgh in WV
1/4 inch is about the size I sell the to the pet store at.
Mixing is a big no no. It causes stress on the frogs and you would probably end up with dead frogs. Tincs are more aggressive then leucs and the leuc would probably be the first one to die.
Some people do mix but in very large tank with alot of experience. And you have to really know what you are doing.
I will be vending at the sho wnest weekend on the 20th in cheswick. I should have azureuz, cobalts, green and black auratus and maybe some leucs.
the shop is called A&B oddball Pets. im good friends with the peaple up there.

i might just stick with the yellow banded ones. the encloser is going to be heavily planted with ferns, mosses, orchards, ect....... i also plan on having a stream going threw it.

^thanks

Springtails are kinda like a clean up crew. They eat decaying plant matter and frog poop.
They are good to have in the tank because if you get a good enoughpopulation of them then the frogs will always have something to munch on and hunt. I make sure I seed all my tanks atleast 2-4 week before I get frogs. That way as long as there is a decent amount of leaf litter they have a chance to multiply.

where can 8i get springtails from?

damn. i work all weekend.

I can ship you a culture. or have some one stop by the show and pick on up for you. Or if you ever head down the weirton way let me know. I always have cultures going. My imitators started laying so I keep a bunch of cultures going to make sure the froglets have plenty to eat
