Since all the Poly Pro's are here and thinking time is short .... HELP - I need suggestions.

This morning my Ornate is acting like he can't submerge without a lot of struggling.

I am currently treating the 210 gallon tank for a mild case of ick.

THE ONLY THING DIFFERENT: i Started that 2 days ago - my Severum got a little - probably from some goldfish feeders.

All the wood and rock has been removed and the UV is now on 24/7.

I am using a treatment (I forget what it is called - got it from one of the better LFS in the area - it is what they use)
It is real strong stuff - so I have been using it real sparingly.

The clown loach's, ghost knife, and peacock eels were removed before treatment.

I also did about a 50 to 60 percent water change before I started treatment and hooked up an air supply to the power head to assist in moving the water more.

The ONLY thing I can think is that the Ornate may have got too much air in him ... the power head pumped a ton of air into the water in very small bubbles.

ANY IDEA'S?

Is he doomed??

The 2 Senegal's and the Rope fish in the same tank are fine with no effect at all.

Thanks in advance!!

This is one of the most common things to hear about with polypterus. IME, they get over it fine by themselves, just need to pass some gas.

very nice pics everyone! :D
heres some of mine.

Great looking bichirs Channarox. Those large white rocks looks like prehistoric eggs that a bichir could hatch from :naughty:

Wow....she is truely a fatty. The girth on your bichir doubled my senegal. I don't see how my senegal could possibly get plump up like this. I think it could also be genetic.

Finally got a pic of my Retro! I've had him for about a month and have only seen its tail as it hides in some thiny ass ornament hole. Last night while i was up watchin cartoons i noticed it swimming around. Its very active at night i discovered.

Sorry about the poor quality but i took these pics only using the TV light as a guide.

Hello,

here are four of my tankmates - the one tank contains a nearly white substrate (where 3 P.senegalus and 1 P.weeksi are living), the other tank contains a nearly black substrate (2 P.delhezi, 2 P.polli, 1 P.lapradei, 1 P.teugelsi). I've done these partitions according to their requirements ... and also to get the most beautiful colours and contrasts the fishes will produce under optimal circumstances.
