it is a good notion to breed these fish in captivity that way we are not taking from the wild more than what is needed. I read a thread a while back where someone at MFKs had a large tank with limas and his female had actually become gravid and laid a batch of unfertilized eggs. Hopefully next go round he will have sucessfully bred them. I would think one of the keys to breeding these catfish is to simulate seasonal changes in water depths, ph, and temps. Also do plenty of research on what type of habitat they choose in the wild for a nesting site. You'll probably have to get it to match up pretty well in order to be sucessful. good luck guys.
